Grace England Early Childhood & Pre-K Center Klein ISD | Houston, TX
This building was designed to be a TX-CHPS verified project and house a morning and afternoon Pre-Kindergarten and Early Childhood Program each serving approximately 500 children from seven surrounding Title I elementary schools. This effectively created Klein ISD’s first stand-alone Pre-Kindergarten Center while freeing at least two classrooms in each associated feeder elementary school to reduce campus crowding.
The Grace England Early Childhood Center was designed around a central open concept library, surrounded by six identical small learning communities or pods. Each pod houses an early childhood classroom, shared motor lab and four Pre-Kindergarten classrooms with toilets and associated ancillary spaces.
“The building incorporates 24 pre-kindergarten classrooms, six early childhood classrooms, three motor labs, parent center, library with an integrated classroom and amphitheater, kitchen and an administrative support suite and ancillary spaces.”
