Bane Elementary School Modernization Cypress-Fairbanks ISD | Houston, TX
One of the earliest campuses in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (CFISD), Bane Elementary School, had an extreme modernization overhaul. Before the renovations there were two buildings connected by an outdoor canopy; now it is a unified building.
Originally sited with the school entrance on Kaiser Street, it was changed to be located on Premier Street in order to face the middle school and double in size. Designing the campus to meet the latest educational program established by CFISD required the following improvements: an enlarged kitchen, cafeteria, stage, music room, three science labs and a multi-purpose gym. While the open classroom concept was maintained in lieu of corridors to access classrooms, a centralized flex classroom allows for interference-free circulation to the classrooms in the designated pod.
+ Master planning was completed by IBI Group for this district.
“A carefully planned and executed phased demolition and construction prevented the need to add portable buildings during the year with a result of cutting the construction time in half.”
