Ed White Elementary School Addition and Renovations Clear Creek ISD | El Lago, TX
Ed White E-STEM Elementary is one of seven schools in Clear Creek ISD that are at least 50 years old which is why there was a need for an entire modernization and upgrade.
This major renovation adds to and renovates the entire campus and brings it up to current learning and safety standards. An addition was created for a new front entry to reclaim areas of the school back to instructional space while also improving way-finding and traffic flow for drop-off and pick-up.
A new Next generation labs and a Maker Space addition was added to support STEM and student centered Learning. This maker space includes a large lab equipped with various STEM needs for projects and has an intricate designed ceiling for sound absorption and playful visuals. The enclosed library also has a STEM / art section added for group work and collaboration.
Interior renovations throughout the school consisted of improving collaboration areas, add and improve safety features, classroom technology upgrades, and various repairs throughout. The entire interior renovation work is designed with the teaching curriculum in mind that STEM learning practices are infused into all subjects including language arts, physical education, art, and music to encourage students to think critically and solve real-world problems.
“This extensive renovation and addition not only improved safety and wayfinding by creating an entirely new front entry point but transformed the school throughout to become a true E-STEM facility for students to learn in every aspect of their education.”
