Donald Leonetti Elementary School Fort Bend ISD | Missouri City, TX
Donald Leonetti Elementary School in Fort Bend ISD is a one-story 121,576 sq ft building. Located in Sienna Plantation, this repeat school design shares a site with Ronald Thornton Middle School with each school having independent circulation for on-site vehicular traffic.
Traditional classrooms are utilized by the students and staff; however, there have been various architectural design elements incorporated into the facility to promote next generation learning concepts and encourage student collaboration, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to prepare students for their future endeavors. Donald Leonetti Elementary School is currently aiming to earn LEED® certification by the U.S. Green Building Council by integrating a sustainable site, optimizing energy-saving features, using recycled content and regional materials, maximizing indoor environmental quality and utilizing the school as a “building as a teacher” tool.
“Collaborative learning flex spaces, state of the art technology, daylighting skylights and flexible lighting controls were strategically arranged throughout the school to accommodate a variety of daily activities and gathering places to stimulate every child type with a healthy educational environment.”
